Traffic Lights

 

Back in Clara. Today has involved travel, walking around a beautiful route, some thinking, and filming traffic lights in operation.

Whilst travelling I also penned this, a list of afflictions suffered by people doing what's called OWRT. Example usage: 'He or she had a touch of the Bucolics'. Selection (must order alphabetically):

THE BUCOLICS

Having delusions about the landscape. As if living in Virtual Reality (VR).

EXPRESSIONITUS

Thinks expressing themselves is always interesting to others.

CONCEPTIPATION

Two forms: finds it hard to get a concept out, or may simply be hostile to concepts.

CONTEXTUAL COMPLEX
Symptoms can include over-contextualising (often via Google only, and to the point where the individual feels they cannot complete work), the passive form (archaic term 'intellectual laziness'), or, thirdly, simply having an aversion to contextualising.

IDEARRHOEA

Suffering from too many ideas.

CHROMES DISEASE

Always using colour.

LAYER DISEASE
Loves 'layering' :(Effects poultry too).

PAINTING

Like fainting but worse. Results in much pain, derived from pain-thing.

DETRITICULAR DISEASE
Loves to use detritus, especially if found, washed up on a beach.

TRADINOSIS
Must use traditional approaches and traditional art materials. Salivates in the proximity of oil paints, linen, hog hair brushes. Can extend to the incorporation of tasteful organic materials such as hay, wood, mud and stones. 

MUSCULAR DISTOPIANISM

Is sexually aroused by dystopia.

CHANCER

Relies too often on gimmicks.

SICKOPHANCY

Career ambitions outweigh ability and quality of work.

PEDANTOPHELIA

Worryingly obsessed with detail (but still gets it wrong).

JOKING ADDICTION

Needs to go to a 'Stop Joking Clinic'.

SKEPTOMANIA

Never likes any art, ever.

CLAYFEVER

Throws pots even though they can be made in factories nowadays.

PRETENTIOPHOBIA

A version of Tourette's syndrome whereby the person uses the word 'pretentious' to describe all manner of activities and art work they don't immediately 'get'. Another symptom is fear of seeming pretentious, but so much so that they are. Includes inverse-pretentiousness: pretending not have a brain.

EXHIBITIONISM

Exhibits work, or wants to, without reason.

BEAUTIFAILIA

Uses the word beautiful in comment responses to Instagram posts depicting well crafted drawings and paintings of animals, plants, people, places and things. May respond similarly to figurative sculptural pieces. Doctors are puzzled that these patients are unaware that the camera was invented and that Romanticism ended two centuries ago. Black and white photographs can be a trigger here too.

Idealises Barbara Hepworth.

CHRONIC CONGRATS

Congratulates every artist on everything they do.

STROKE

Those affected fixate on brush strokes and can't stop commenting on them.

STYLE'S DISEASE

A widespread problem, almost at pandemic levels.

No treatment exists for this yet.

DELIGHTATITIS

Is always 'delighted' to win awards, and receive grants, small or big.
